Must-Haves for the Perfect Austin Bachelorette Weekend
Updated: Nov 26, 2022
So, it’s really happening, isn’t it?
Chances are, if you are googling “Bachelorette or Bachelor Party Trip in Austin, Texas”- you’ve got a pretty big task at hand. One minute it’s just you and your besties eating two day old pizza off the counter after staying up too late studying for exams or partying the night before and before you know it… you or someone you know is the first to get engaged. Maybe you’ve never planned a party like this for someone before and don’t know where to start, or maybe it’s the tenth and you already know the ropes- either way, it’s a domino effect after that first one and they aren’t going to stop quickly. Congratulations! Weddings are a blast, love is lovely and the bachelor/bachelorette parties? Possibly more exciting than the wedding itself to be honest.
The bad news is that planning a trip for multiple people can be…overwhelming. Additionally, Austin, Texas has become one of the nation’s top bachelor/bachelorette party locations for a reason. With a lethal combination of the best food, music, and a culture that’s unique to this town and this town only? It’s not difficult to see why we have brides and grooms to-be FLOCKING here. And lucky for you, we don’t mind sharing all this awesomeness with new friends.
BUT THERE ARE SO MANY CHOICES. It’s a choose your own adventure map from hell if you are dropped in the middle of it. How to please everyone? What to do first?
How about this…we give you one itinerary that we believe in with our whole hearts, made by locals.
Arriving on a Thursday evening is the move. Everyone has time to tie up loose ends in the morning, have a travel day, and get settled before the action really begins.
Fly into Austin Bergstrom International Airport and grab your rideshares to your hotel. In this scenario you are staying at The Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt on Rainey Street. Why? It’s beautiful, has a pool and is conveniently located within stumbling distance of the action, a decision that will save you money in rideshares.
If you are a bachelorette party the first best decision you have made is that you decided to hire Bach Babes beforehand, and they have decked out your hotel room in the theme you chose, DISCO COWGIRL. The bride walks in and is blown away, it’s an instant mood.
This first night is allllll about getting ready. Instead of staying up late drinking, the focus is on everyone arriving, hydrating, and getting settled.
For early arrivers spend the afternoon walking down Congress, perusing shops like Allen’s Boots, where you can purchase one of a kind Texan footwear to sport all weekend, then dinner at Vietnamese/French fusion restaurant Elizabeth Street Cafe. Everything on the menu is amazing, the drinks are fantastic, and you can’t go wrong here. We know you want to party, but you’ve made the mistake of blowing out the first night and struggling the rest of the trip before and you’ve learned from it. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Everyone is fresh and feeling wonderful and ready to GO.
The squad is excited because today….you are going on a PARTY BOAT ON LAKE TRAVIS WITH PREMIER PARTY CRUISES. No one else realized that all you had to do was go to their website, click the blue button to build a quote, collect payments from each person and BOOM- you had reserved space to the best party in Austin. The best part about all of this is that it was priced per ticket and included in this cost is a DJ, a professional photographer, captains who drive the boat, coolers and ice, water, cups, lily pads to lay on in the water, and each bachelorette party has their own mimosa setup inside a cooler. You have a lot of street cred for being responsible for this event and, yeah, that feels good. You don’t have to tell them. We won’t ruin it for you.
The party starts at 12 and goes until 4, so for breakfast everyone walks to get breakfast tacos at Taco Deli, only fifteen minutes away. Walking is the best way to see a city! DO NOT SKIP THE DONA SAUCE if you like spicy things.
Back at the hotel, everyone dresses in their craziest/hottest/funniest outfits to fit the theme you decided on and your ride from Austin Party Bus Company comes to get you. You had a Thundercloud sub sandwich tray delivered to the room before you left and all you have to bring is that, your own booze, and sunscreen. Easy.
The Premier Party Disco Cruise has several other bachelor and bachelorette parties on board, the DJ absolutely crushes it, and you make new friends, dance and swim more than you have for years. At 4, the party bus comes to pick you up from the lake and take you back to the hotel.
Showers, getting ready, and dinner at Kemuri Tatsuya. The menu there contains fun and wild surprises in shareable dishes and the drinks come in kitschy containers like tiki cats! Meet up with the other groups from the disco cruise on the East Side at White Horse for live music and two stepping.
Get up and don’t worry about getting too ready or feeling hungover, you are grabbing smoothie bowls and vegan breakfast items at Austin staple, Juiceland, and heading to Barton Springs. You can’t bring alcohol, cigarettes, or food inside- but this historic Austin attraction is the heart of our city and shouldn’t be missed. It’s perfect for a recovery morning. Jump into the cold spring water together, nap on blankets, people watch, and enjoy the skyline.
Lunch at Terry Black’s Barbeque, right next to Barton Springs. You really can’t leave Austin without tacos and barbecue, it’s just not allowed. Casual and messy food after swimming and go hand in hand.
Head back to the hotel and take your time getting all dressed up, you have late dinner reservations at French restaurant Justine’s- one of Austin’s most beloved restaurants frequented by locals and travelers alike.
Escargot, Steak Frites, fantastic drinks- it’s the best for a fancy night out.
Make an appointment beforehand at Lumiere Tintype, located in the back garden of the restaurant. These beautiful and unique old fashioned portraits are the kind of intensely special thing your grandkids will keep around.
Burn it down at Coconut Club and Neon Grotto and remember to invite all the friends you’ve made at the Disco Cruise! This club has different levels, themes, DJs, a rooftop spot and hot weirdos running through it- it’s perfect.
Well. That went by fast. It’s time to get ready to leave- you are exhausted and sore from all the dancing and laughing you’ve put your body through.
Banger’s Brunch is your last hoorah. Get there right when it opens, get the giant Manmosas, enjoy live music and incredible food, cheers your groom or bride and say goodbye to your group- it’s been a legendary trip.
Fly out of Austin Bergstrom International Airport and fall asleep with your mouth open before the plane even takes off.
When it comes to options for this city, we know they are endless. That’s why this is only the first of several itineraries we are putting out. At Premier we take fun and friendship seriously, and we want you to have a BLAST with your crew.
Life is short.
Follow the call of the Disco Ball, live it up, hug your friends, celebrate love, and eat tacos.
